Sustainable development at GENEVA PALEXPO
History
Since its conception GENEVA PALEXPO has focused on environmental issues as can be seen by the fact that the complex has been connected to the gas works district heating system since its construction (1979-1981). Integrated waste management
 | | Aware of sustainable development, conscious of the environment and its responsibility for the future, since 1992 the company has encouraged exhibitors and constructors alike to separate waste from the stands in order to recycle it. The participation of exhibitors and constructors is prompted on the basis of whoever pollutes must pay. |
The exhibition regulations also draw the attention of exhibitors to the question of recycling materials when designing their stand in order to minimise the use of resources and to reduce costs, as well as to reduce waste, waste pollution and the disposal of waste. In this respect, the exhibition has become a pioneer among Swiss exhibition centres. Current waste recycling at some exhibitions has reached exceptional levels of nearly 80%. | | |
